Brr...

After a week of extremely cold weather (about -10 plus wind chill of -14) we had a weekend of above zero temperature. I spent all day installing the rest of the paving stone in the back yard. At then end of the day we were ready to call it quits and just go inside for supper but we decided to pull out the fire pit and set it up. We had a fire that night for the first time in our 'new' backyard! There are still a few holes in the patio to fill as we need dad's tile saw here to cut them.

The gutters are on the house. You can't really tell in the picture (took it at night) but they are black! Dad has been working on getting the decks up. Right now the front and back deck are framed. Instead of putting the decking on them right now we have ply-wood over them. This is to save the decking when the drywallers come and make a mess.

The house just got insulated yesturday! They came and put the batting up. They are coming with a different crew today to do some of the spray in insulation; and then another crew comes tomorrow to put up the vapor barrior. Once that is done our drywallers can start! We'll also be ready to get our siding going up here really soon. Dad brought home the first couple of trim pieces for our siding yesturday!

Outside of the world of my new house life here is going great. Dan is working five days a week right now which is a bit much especially coming off of his crazy schedule from harvest. We're hoping for a little down time here soon. My work is going great (love that place!) and school is the usual. I am in a high school art class just helping out and teaching once in a while; I love the kids and never thought an art class could be that fun (until this point I had only ever had my practicums and experience in English classes which to be honest is not the funnest class to attend 'just for fun').
